RPG Software Developer

Job Location: Colchester, VT

We are seeking an innovative, customer focused, self-directed individual to join the VIP RPG Development Team.  VIP Software Developers work with our existing suite of software applications and are responsible for creating new programs, enhancing existing programs by adding features, coding interfaces and fixing software bugs.

The successful candidate will have practical programming experience in RPG, knowledge of programming best practices, and have the ability to work in a high energy environment.  You will work with a team of programmers who improve the features and stability of existing applications.  You will also be responsible for assigned programming changes, as identified by our customers, which are related to minor enhancements, bug fixes and customization of software or interface (data extracts).

Software Implementation Specialist

Job Location: Colchester, VT

VIP is seeking several enthusiastic, organized and customer-oriented team players for the role of Software Implementation Specialist on our various Installation Teams.  These teams install a wide variety of software for our beverage customers, including applications that manage pricing, inventory, financials and beverage distribution analytics.  In this role you’ll build direct relationships with existing and new customers, gain hands-on project management experience, and contribute to the enhancement of our growing software packages.

We are seeking a Distributor Data Specialist to join our SRS Team.  Our Supplier Services business is focused on moving data between distributors and suppliers in the beverage industry. This data is a driving force in marketing and supply chain planning and is vital to the business practices of our customers. This entry-level position is well-suited to an inquisitive self-starter willing to ask questions and work with little direct supervision. The Item Catalog Data Specialist plays a critical role in the ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive catalog of packages and brands that VIP has created for the Beverage Industry.  This entry-level position is responsible for monitoring a group of assigned accounts (beverage suppliers & distributors), and assist them in adding content to the Item Catalog that meets a set of data quality rules.

Mid-level Technical Writer

VIP is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to develop and maintain documentation and training materials for our expanding product line. Our goal is to help our customers use VIP products to their full potential by providing easy-to-use content. We deliver content in a variety of methods, including online Knowledge Bases, embedded help, job aids, quick references, release notes, short training videos, and eLearning modules.

Our tech writers work closely with product owners and development teams to track and understand product changes. They collaborate with support and implementation teams to write monthly release notes, keep existing content up to date, and develop new content. Writers also assist in developing articles for our newsletter and preparing content for conferences and regional trainings.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An interest in learning the beverage industry encompassing beer, wine, spirits, and soft drinks.
  • The ability to dive into the inner logic of software products.

IT Operations Support Technician

Job Location: Colchester, VT

We are seeking an Operations Technician to join our IT Department.  This person will be the first response, triage, and Level 1 troubleshooting contact within IT Operations and Service Management.  The IT Operations Support Technician will diagnose the root cause of an issue and perform the steps necessary to fully log the incident, including the troubleshooting steps taken and the resulting resolution.  When incident resolution is beyond the expertise of the technician, it will be their responsibility to effectively escalate to the appropriate technical area for Level 2 troubleshooting and resolution.

  • Diagnosis and troubleshooting of problems with computer systems – PC-Based & Apple, including hardware and software, email, network, smartphone, tablets and other peripheral equipment
  • Answer incoming requests in order to resolve issues immediately or to track issues in the Ticketing System to ensure a follow-up
  • Document all troubleshooting procedures and processes
  • Identify repeat requests and recommend solutions to reduce repetitive requests
  • Manipulate, analyze, and interpret data
  • Install new hardware including computers, printers, and other peripheral equipment while maintaining accurate hardware and software inventory
  • Provide support relating to computer issues involving Microsoft’s applications and operating systems to end users by responding to telephone calls and email requests
