Database Engineer

Location: Colchester, VT

We are seeking an experienced database engineer to work on the creation of new, enterprise level systems as well as the maintenance of existing infrastructure. We are looking for a high energy, self-starter who loves to collaborate with various development teams.

Job Requirements

  • SQL development
  • Create and maintain complex SQL scripts and stored procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of referential integrity constraints and indexing
  • Ability to understand and enhance complex database models
  • Follow (and if necessary, refine) in-house coding standards
  • Troubleshoot/bug-fix SQL
  • Performance optimization of SQL
  • Database administration
  • Maintain transactional processing application’s databases and data warehouse
  • Support application development staff with database design and implementation
  • Able to manage all the stages of software development
  • Use database code repositories for change management
  • Profile server resource usage and optimize as necessary
  • Assist in Compliance efforts to include, reporting, auditing and implementation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across the organization
  • Strong communications, both written and verbal


  • Minimum of 4 years of solid relational database experience
  • Minimum of 2 years working with MS SQL Server
  • Primary database: MS SQL Server, work with Snowflake, Netezza, and DB2 a plus
