Job Location: Colchester, Vermont or Ottawa, Ontario

VIP is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to work on the creation of new, enterprise-level systems as well as the maintenance of existing infrastructure. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who enjoys collaboration and innovation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure database security, integrity, stability and system availability
  • Profile server resource usage and optimize as necessary
  • Maintain database backup and recovery infrastructure
  • Assist in monthly database server maintenance and upgrades
  • Create, maintain and optimize complex SQL scripts and stored procedures
  • Follow (and if necessary, refine) in-house coding standards
  • Troubleshoot/bug-fix SQL scripts
  • Support application development staff with database design and implementation
  • Use database code repositories for change management

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of solid relational database experience
  • Minimum of 4 years working with MS SQL Server

  • In-depth knowledge of referential integrity constraints and indexing
  • Knowledge of Snowflake and DB2 is a plus

Accounting Software Support Specialist

Job Location: Colchester, Vermont

Full time w/ hybrid WFH schedule

VIP is looking for an Accounting Software Support Specialist. In this role, you will support customers using the VIP Route Accounting System with their accounting and financial reporting needs. You will be assisting beverage distributors and soda bottlers across the country with interpreting accounting transactions and analyzing financial reports for accuracy. Through these efforts you will develop strong and lasting relationships with customers by boosting their success with our system. This is not the typical accounting position. If you are interested in using your accounting skills in a technical, customer-facing role, this could be the job for you!

  • Perform daily cash management duties, such as processing and recording of bank deposits
  • Monitor customers with past due balances and contact them via telephone, email, and mail to resolve outstanding balances while strengthening and growing your relationship with them.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and invoice requests
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ payment concerns
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data
  • Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with assigned accounts, understanding their unique business needs, goals, and challenges
  • Serve as the main point of contact and trusted advisor for clients, providing ongoing support, guidance, and proactive communication
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful onboarding, implementation, and adoption of our route accounting software
  • Escalate and help resolve customer issues by taking ownership of technical issue escalation, responding in a timely manner, and working with cross-functional teams to understand root causes and remediation plans to address client issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 2 years work experience as an Account Manager, Sales Representative, or similar customer-facing role
  • Experience in the software industry, preferably in the route accounting or supply chain domain, is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients at all levels
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities to drive upselling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
