VIP announces general release of pricing-awareness tool for beverage suppliers
Many beverage suppliers, specifically wine and spirits brand owners, struggle to coordinate effective pricing and costs across all markets and brands. This industry challenge stems from the lack of visibility to actual pricing behavior of their distributors.
Vermont Information Processing (VIP) is pleased to announce that Deal Organizer addresses this challenge and is now available for general release. Deal Organizer is a unique pricing-awareness tool that can:
Automatically structure list prices and discounted prices to retailers for groups of brands and distributors. These pricing structures are generated from the data collected through VIP Supplier Reporting Services (SRS). Deal Organizer aggregates the sales volume sold at the list prices and discounted prices for brand and distributor groups. It even provides insight into what accounts bought the brands at each price.
Compare planned pricing and sales volumes to actual market behavior. If your company already assumes pricing and sales volumes, Deal Organizer can effectively validate those assumptions based on the data collected through SRS. You can easily import your assumptions into Deal Organizer and adjust them as needed.
Developed for real industry challenges
VIP is grateful to the beverage suppliers that assisted with the early development of Deal Organizer. In particular, Diageo and Proximo were driving forces behind many of the features and functions.
These partnerships were a tremendous opportunity to build a tool that directly addresses the industry’s immediate challenges with price planning. During the time leading up to the general release, Deal Organizer has clearly added value to our partners’ pricing strategies.
Part of the growing VIP pricing system
Deal Organizer is not the first pricing application offered by VIP. Other pricing applications include Retail Price Communication (RPC) and Price Promotion Management (PPM). Both applications are well-established within the industry and have been used by dozens of pricing teams for over half a decade.
RPC sends retail pricing to chains that support vendor-managed pricing such as Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. You or your distributors can authorize items, enter shelf pricing, and send pricing to chains directly from the RPC application.
Some current RPC users include Proximo, Banfi, Diageo, Guinness, Prestige Wine & Spirits, The Wine Group, Chateau Ste. Michelle, and Treasury Wine Estates.
PPM uses depletion data collected through SRS to calculate rebates with full visibility to the invoice-level data included in the rebates. Distributors participating in promotions can easily approve or dispute rebate amounts online, increasing communication and efficiency.
Some current PPM users include Deschutes Brewery, Constellation Brands - Beer Division, Guinness, Boston Beer, Monster Energy, Heineken, MillerCoors, Pabst Brewing Company, and Talking Rain.
